Editing Rant

Now, before anyone gets bent out of shape, it is not the Indies that I am speaking of. Very surprisingly, I have seen more HUGE editing mistakes in the BIG publishing companies–Random House, especially–than I have in all the Indie books I have read or have been reading.

Now, let’s think about this for a moment. Did they fire all of their editors? They claim they are so much better than the indie authors’ self-edited works. Well here’s a bee for your bonnet. They’re not.

Lately I have read a mixture of books, some Indie and some big companies. Ready for this. The Indies’ books are better edited than the big companies. I am not quite sure what is happening. It honestly used to be the other way around. Could it be that Indies take more pride in their work? Could it be that the big companies just don’t care anymore? Could the tides be changing?

I am thinking, yes, to all the above. The big companies need to watch it. Put out poor works and you get poor profits. Put out works that someone has taken pride in and you get the best of the best. Rant over.

THANK YOU INDIE AUTHORS!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

Good Intentions by Pembroke Sinclair–Review by Bethanie

Good Intentions

By: Pembroke Sinclair

Genre: YA Paranormal

(No cover photo)

Good vs. Evil, good wins again, however, not in the way you would expect. Demons will always be demons.

Ms. Sinclair finished The Road to Salvation series very well with the third book,  Good Intentions. It was rather short, but at the same time, everything happened that needed to happen. I was pleased by this. I would rather read a shorter book and have everything closed, than a long book with more words than is necessary. I believe this was the perfect way to end this series.

Once again it was like a tennis match, and at times, drove me crazy. I would have to walk away and then come back to it later. Then, of course, the ending was fantastic! I just have to say, YAY!!

I liked the way it ended. Although, I think this was the last book in the series, it was left open to possibly visit a spin-off series from this one. We’ll see what happens. It did give me enough closure, though, to feel like the main characters won. Good always wins, no matter how long it takes.

Thank  you, Ms. Sinclair, for sharing your wonderful series with me. I enjoyed it very much. Happy reading!

I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
